I learn so much from you and the speakers at every event! This year was a living, breathing experience of the power of sufficiency.
As you might guess, I am prone to worrying. I have to work hard to not see all the things that could go wrong instead of all the things that are going right. Does this sound familiar? As the SWA day approached I was concerned about not hitting our fundraising target or filling the room. I fussed over whether we had enough experts and if people would have time to eat their lunch.
Then, I pulled myself up by the bootstraps. And I let it go. I practiced what I preach. Whatever happens, happens. Whoever is there is exactly who is meant to be there. And the money we raise will be enough.
There is a line in this song that refers to “angels in the hallway”. It is one of my favourite stories of the day.
Mid-afternoon, while we were in the full expression of our glory—arms waving, music playing, women laughing, and a palpable cloud of joy connecting the room, a golfer walked by. They peered into the room and smiled. They asked a volunteer in the hall about what was going on. She explained what we were learning about, that it was a fundraiser for Dress for Success, and who they were. The volunteer also mentioned we were a bit short of our financial goal and when she told the golfer the amount, he replied, “I’ll cover that!” Sure enough, on Monday, they sent a cheque for $5000 that put us over our $40,000 fundraising target.
I KNOW you did this!! It was the energy of our goodwill and shared optimism that met the energy of their generosity that created that little miracle. It is the magic that happens when the highest energies align for good.
I hope you are having wonderful conversations about money everywhere you go! And that you know deeply that you are enough and that your life is filled with blessings exactly as it is.
